The AstroMagick Lounge is an occult arts & entertainment site dedicated to exploring the age of Black Aquarius* – a period of occultism that permeated popular culture during the 1960s-70s and is currently experiencing a revival. With one foot in the past and other in the present, we’ll be taking a serious look at occult topics and pursuing arcane amusements with a lighthearted sensibility. I hope the end result will be a bubbling cauldron of delightful & diabolical discoveries that will encourage readers to cultivate their imaginations, pursue their curiosity and contemplate their dreams.

Your Host

Kimberly Lindbergs is a Rondo-nominated writer, researcher and mixed media artist harboring a lifelong fascination with the occult. Her journalism has appeared in numerous publications and online outlets including TCM.com, Publishers Weekly, FilmStruck, Cineaste Magazine, Cinedelica, Fandor, The Cultural Gutter, and on her blog Cinebeats.com. She brings her infectious enthusiasm and passion for investigation to whatever she does. *I first heard the term ‘Black Aquarius’ used by British broadcaster & author Matthew Sweet in his 2015 BBC radio program for Archive 4: “The age of Black Aquarius matched the late Victorian craze for the occult in its intensity and popularity, and certainly drew from some of that era’s obsessions – dark dimensions, secret rites, unearthly energy – but filtered through ‘the permissive society’, through a hugely eclectic counterculture, swinging sexual liberation and new kinds of consumption and lifestyle.“
